Steve Toltz, Author of Quicksand

September 16, 2015

Steve Toltz, author of the new novel Quicksand joins us in a remarkably revealing conversation about the inner life of a writer. Toltz speaks openly about his ambivalence when his first novel, A Fraction of the Whole, was short-listed for the Man Booker Prize in 2008. He walks us through his process of developing the characters, settings and structure of Quicksand which he intended to be as close to a complete opposite of A Fraction of the Whole as he could manage. This is a 'must listen' for all writers and those who love the art of writing.
